The Asus G60J is proof of Asus’ commitment to giving only the best for its gamer market. The Asus G60J is one of two laptops by the company that has surpassed the hurdle of creating a gaming laptop that is both portable and powerful. Gaming poses the highest requirements compared to other applications. That is why the desktop is always preferred for it since they have the necessary space for the components.
Asus, however, had acknowledged such an obstacle and created the G60J and its twin brother, the Asus G51J. These two notebooks have the necessary features for running games while still remaining quite handy and portable.
First off, the Asus G60J is powered by the latest in processor technology: Intel’s Core i7. You can choose between the 720QM and the 820QM. The first one, the 720QM, has a base speed of 1.6 GHz while the 820QM is at 1.73 GHz. However, due to Intel’s Turbo Boost speed technology, the processors can be increased to up to 2.80 GHz and 3.06GHz, respectively. The Asus G60J is able to accommodate up to 4 gigabytes with minimal capacity of 2 GB.
Supporting its gaming capabilities is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M graphics card. This is a high-end graphics controller that has a VRAM of 1 gigabyte. This card allows the Asus G60J to make short work of even the most graphically demanding games in the market.
This laptop comes with a very big hard disk capacity of 500 gigabytes. Plus, the hard disk runs at an RPM of 7200 for a faster data transfer rate. Plus, you also have the option to add in another 500 gigabytes. That’s a whopping 1 terabyte of storage space, more than what most people could ever need.
Other features of the Asus G60J include: a Blu-Ray DVD combo optical drive, and high-end Altec Lansing speakers.
One drawback to the Asus G60J, however, is its screen’s resolution. It peaks at only 1366×768, just a little below the true 1080p resolution needed for HD. Its brother, the Asus G51J, has a larger resolution of 1920×1200.
Last but not the least is the G60J’s portability. Like its brother, the Asus G60J weighs only 3.3 kilograms and has dimensions of 37.5×26.5×4.1 centimeters.

Pros
The strength of the Asus G60J lies in its Core i7 processor, massive memory support and a dedicated graphics card of 1 gigabyte that makes 3D processing easy and possible.
The Asus G60J also provides an impressive audio experience with its Altec Lansing speakers.
Cons
The Asus G60J has a short battery life because of the powerful features that it has that drain its supply quickly. The G60J can only last a little under 2 hours when taken off the hook.
The resolution also is an issue, plus there is also a reported flex in using the keyboard.
Conclusion
Despite its short battery life and low resolution, the Asus G60J still has the qualities to satisfy the gamer and his needs. The laptop has a powerful processor supported by a large amount of RAM, plus its large hard disk space. The 1 GB VRAM is also something to hail about, as it makes even the difficult games process look easy. The Asus G60J retails at about $2,700.
