Asus has done it yet again with the Asus G51J. Hardcore gamers can rub their hands in anticipation with this new gaming laptop, the Asus G51J, which comes from one of the biggest manufacturers of the gadgets in the market.

While most gaming laptops can be bulky due to the makers having to accommodate a host of heavy features to makes games processes possible, Asus has once again done well in making the Asus G51J still thin and manageable.

The Asus G51J has the latest in Intel’s Core processor: the Core i7. There are two options of Core i7 processors for the G51J runs. One, the 720QM runs at 1.6 GHz. However, its speed can be overclocked through the Core i7’s Turbo Boost technology, hitching it up to 2.80GHz. The second one is the 820QM processor with a speed of 1.73 GHz and a boost of 3.06 GHz.

Both processors use their memory from a bank of 4 gigabytes. The memory type for the G51J is the DDR3 for an enhanced performance.

The G51J promises a hitchless and smooth processing even in heavy programs like video editing software and, of course, hardcore gaming.

To make its gaming capabilities possible, Asus has endowed the Asus G51J with an Nvidia Geforce Card, the 260M. This graphics processor has a VRAM of 1 gigabyte in order to support the heavier graphics of today’s games.

The Asus G51J rocks with its hard drive capacities as well. One option is to load it up with 640 gigabytes of data, made up of 2 320 GB hard disks. Another choice is the 1 terabyte of hard disk space. Either way, both options are large enough to make the hardcore downloader drool over the amount of space he has to play with.

One last feature is the Asus G51J’s Blu-Ray DVD drive. More than just a gaming laptop, the Blu-Ray support makes the G51J a multimedia laptop as well. They can also burn movie files in DVD format as well.

The Asus G51J comes in the same line as the Asus G60J as they both implement the Core i7 processor. The differences between the two, however, lie in their screens’ resolutions: the G51J has a higher resolution of 1920 x 1200, which means better details and graphics for the laptop. The G60J, on the other hand, only has 1366×768.

The Asus G51J complements its awesome video capabilities with a top-notch audio system: the stereo speakers come from Altec Lansing, which is known for its high quality audio speakers.

The G51J has dimensions of 37.5×26.5×4.1 centimeters, making it one of the most portable gaming laptops in the market. It is also light at only 3.3 kg.
