The UX50V is the more muscular sibling in Asus UX Laptops series, compared to the Asus UX30.  It promises better performance than its little brother, but still comes in a slim package.

 

The UX50V is a 15.6-inch computing machine, compared to the UX-30’s 13-inch screen.  The Asus UX50V laptop comes with a native resolution of 1366×768, which allows HD output to be played with greater detail and clarity than when viewed in lesser resolution screen.  This resolution is also good for graphics editing and viewing, which usually requires high-resolution screens.  Games also look good when played at this resolution.

 

The main difference between the UX brothers is the graphics support.  The UX30 is supported by an integrated Intel Graphics Accelerator, which doesn’t allow memory-hungry games and graphic applications to be run.  The UX50V, however, is supported by 512 MB of NVIDIA GeForce G105M graphics card, which permits detailed games and graphic programs.

 

A buyer has the options to customize the UX-50V’s processing power.  One may choose to load this laptop with: an Intel Core2Duo Processor at 1.6 Ghz, a Core Solo Processor at 1.4 Ghz and a Pentium M at 1.3 GHz.  These processors are made with the Consumer Ultra Low Voltage technology, which consumes less power without disregarding processing power.

 

This prowess is backed by up to 4 GB of random access memory.  With this amount of memory, the UX50V promises to deliver lag-less performance when running a heavy application.

Pros:

The Asus UX50V’s graphic support allows users to run detail-rich games and application without lag.  It high-resolution screen also allows users to view those details with clarity.

 

Cons:

The Asus UX50V is really pricey, which might turn away computer users who have limited budget even when they want to have an excellent performing machine.

 

Conclusion:

Even if the Asus UX50V has a high price tag, it is worth it. With its specifications and configurations – powerful processor and high physical and graphic memories – there isn’t much more that a buyer can ask for.

 

With the power behind this slim machine, one can have the access to a range of applications.  It’s certainly a good investment despite the high price.
