Asus is known to have started the boom of mini-laptops as its Eee PC series remains a hot seller. Due to its success, Asus designed a new set of ultra-slim netbooks with fat specifications — the UX Asus UX Laptops series.
The Asus UX30 is a notebook in the UX series, having a very lean thickness of only 0.9 inches – one of the thinnest the laptop industry has seen. This laptop is ideal for people who travel a lot – it is as light as it is slim.
The UX30’s slim design is especially thanks to Intel’s Consumer Ultra Low Voltage processors. Intel’s CUVL processors requires lesser power to run, thus lesser heat is produced while in operation. This feature allowed Asus to design a slimmer box for the UX series due to cooler processors.
The Asus UX30 laptop may be powered by either an Intel® Core2 Duo Processor SU9400 or the Core Solo Processor SU3500, both clocked at 1.4 GHz. Add to that a memory support of up to 4 GB. With this specs, there is a little worry that the unit will slow down when performing a number of tasks.
The UX30 comes with a 13-inch display with a 1366 x 768 resolution that allows two document windows to be lined up side-by-side when needed. This allows a user to edit a document while using the other one as reference.

Pros:
The main selling point of the UX30 is its thinness and lightness. With a nice resolution for multitasking needs, office documents can now be written or edited faster.
Cons:
The UX30 does not have enough specs to support the present games, although it could play older games that do not require much processing power and memory.
Conclusion:
The Asus UX30 is a good machine for average computer users as well as business types who need raw power for their computing needs. Although this laptop would not do well in playing high-quality games, it could perform other tasks in a cinch. The Asus UX30 might be a worth buy depending on one’s computing needs.
